Hello all,
I just want to let everyone know that as of right now, www.cmc-photo.com is down and will be for the next day or two. I am in the process of updating my site and changing over to a blogsite! I am super excited to have all the info you need about me and my work on one site and that it will be constantly updated with my latest news and images from the latest shoots! Check back soon for the new site. Also, once the new site is online this Blogspot blog will go bye bye! Hopefully all the posts will be transferred to the new site so you can still see all the great pics!

Melissa & Victor :: Engaged :: 06.18.10

Melissa is the sister of a past bride and actually booked me before her sisters wedding so I got to know her and Victor pretty well before we got to do our session. Melissa had gone on Google looking for places for the engagement pics and she just happened to stumble upon Sausalito. They had never been there and I had never shot there so it made for a great adventure and a very fun day.
Having Melissa and Victor in front of my camera is a lot of fun, especially once they get warmed up. They have so much personality and just love being around each other! Once we got going I just told them to stand somewhere and talk, then I would fire off a bunch of frames. I got such natural emotion and lots of great laughs out of them, they are truly a testament of what an engaged couple should act like! They are getting married in another water front community so I cant wait to see what we can come up with there as well. No matter what I know they will be a lot of fun and will let their love fill the images! Enjoy the engagement pics and stay tuned for the wedding photos later this year!

Fashion photo shoot :: 06.18.10

A couple of months ago, an old friend contacted me asking if I would be interested in doing a Hair Fashion photoshoot for a contest she was entering. I had never shot "hair" as the main subject but thought I would give it a shot, and It was SO much fun! The model was a joy to work with and it was like doing an Americas Top Model shoot.
Fast forward to about a week ago and my friend contacts me again seeing if I could squeeze her in for another hair session. I made room in my schedule and we got her in. This shoot was even better than the last! Great colored hair, awesome clothes with lots of textures and colors, and our model was awesome too! I got to use a lot more of my backdrops and we even got to go out to Mare Island and do some more editorial shots before I had to rush off to my next shoot!

Thank you to Janette from La Chaise Rouge in Santa Rosa, CA for all the Hair, Make-up & Wardrobe! Always a pleasure to work with you!

The main emphasis for the shoot WAS the colors and the hair, but I couldnt help but play with some B&W to give these images a really nice older fashion magazine look! They tunred out to be some of my favorite images!

So this wedding had a special meaning for me since it was on my anniversary! I couldnt be happier to be working with such a great couple, with amazing families on a day that I too was celebrating. Luckily I have a very supportive wife that didn't mind sharing me on our anniversary.
I met Elisa and Russell at their home after Elisa was referred to me by her Mothers neighbors. ( I shot the neighbors daughters wedding last August and I am shooting the sons wedding this October in Chicago!) From the first meeting everything was so much fun and I knew this was going to be a great wedding. We even got Russell to smile and enjoy himself as well. Watching these two amazing people throughout the day was such a joy and made us not want to stop taking their photo. The relationship they have is so genuine that you cant help but smile in their presence! Thank you guys for letting me be a part of your amazing wedding! Enjoy the images.

I was so happy I could get this session scheduled! With conflicting work schedules and the CRAZY weather we have been having, I thought we would never get to get outside and have this great shoot. Luckily we all were free on Memorial Day and the weather was PERFECT! The Jack London State Historical Park was a hiking favorite for the bride to be and served as such a wonderful place to get outside, have some fun and take some engagement pictures!

Kimberly and Dave are so pleasant to be around and they are so sweet on each other. This wasnt exactly Daves favorite thing in the world to do, but we pulled some fun out of him and he did great. Not only shining in front of the camera but he made his bride to be VERY happy and their great relationship showed though and made the images wonderful. Thank you goys so much for having me capture your relationship. I cant wait for the wedding, we are going to have a blast! Please enjoy the images.

So I am posting a little bit out of order but I had these all ready to go so I figured I would post these now.

When I met Rachel & Themis it was a bit akward. We had gotten our communications crossed so we were waiting at 2 different Starbucks for 45min before we got a hold of each other and figured out we didnt flake, just got confused. Once we did meet up I was so happy we didnt miss each other. From the moment we started talking and getting to know each other I got more and more excited to work with them. Such a wonderful couple! My excitement grew when we did the engagement session. Their connection and feelings for each other were SO easy and natural to capture and they were just so excited to be going through this journey together. Such a pleasure to work with and the wedding was no different. Of course Rachel and Themis were amazing, but their families and friends were no different. From all the hospitality at Rachels parents house, to the great cultural ceremony and the great memories that were talked about in the speeches, it was just a WONDERFUL day! Please enjoy the images!

When I met these two I immediately felt like an old friend. They are just some of the nicest people you can ever meet. They have such a great connection with each other that covers everything they touch and everyone they meet, its a love that you wish on people to have. Working with them was such a joy and as always they made me feel so welcomed into their lives. I can already tell that their wedding is going to be one for the books!

I have known Stacy, the bride for about 14 years now, so when she came to me to be her wedding photographer I was super excited! Erica & Daves Maui Trash the Dress session!!!

Another wonderful session with this amazing couple!!! The resort gave us a great location once again for some amazing images! We started up at the lobby and then worked our way down to the beach, then came back up to the pools get get some in the water shots! The bride was such a trooper and the groom was the most committed groom I have ever had during a TTD shoot! Also thank you to my wife for assisting! She did awesome! (sorry for the sun burn! )

All I can say is "WOW"!!! Erica and Dave flew me out to Maui to shoot their amazing wedding and I can't thank them enough for this great experience. The happy couple and their family and friends made this small, intimate wedding one for the history books. The Ritz Carlton Residences @ Kapalua was just as beautiful as the bride and groom and was the perfect backdrop to help me showcase their love! I was super excited to do this shoot and I am even more excited to share it. Jana and Dave have a connection that you cant pose, or set up or try to fake. All I had to do was just tell them where to stand and they pretty much did the rest! You can tell how much they love each other and how excited they are to just be around each other! The location wasn't to bad either! Quarry Hill Botanical Gardens were the perfect, beautiful location to help us showcase this amazing couple!!

I met Erica and Dave at a wedding back in January. Erica caught the bouquet and asked me to take a picture of her and her fiance, so of course I obliged. We got to talking about their upcoming wedding and I found out it was going to be in Maui this May! They had already been in talks with a photographer there but I guess my images convinced them to go with me! So here we are, getting ready to fly out to the islands and we did a great engagement session on the other side of the Pacific Ocean. The connection with these two is just wonderful, and pure. I had such a great time spending time with them during this session! I cant wait to shoot this wedding in Hawai'i!

This weddings location was probably one of the most picturesque places I have ever worked and with a great couple like Jen and Patrick, I was like a kid in a candy store! Such a wonderful day! My Parents Backyard and a couple from the front

We visited my parents house today and enjoyed a great meal on the back patio. I have been wanting to do more "personal camera work" to help hone my skills and to just have fun. I brought my 5D (classic) and my 85mm F1.8 and thought I would shoot if something inspired me. My parents backyard has a lot of different flowers and plants as well as a quirkyness that only those who know my Mom can understand. As we were eating I started noticing pictures in my head and decided that I was going to do a photo study of their yard. The colors, the textures, and the patterns. Some of these pics remind me of old Brett Weston black and white prints and there is a LITTLE Georgia O'Keefe in there, probably only because of some of the southwest elements of the yard.

This was my second engagement session of the day and I was super excited to get to work when I arrived at the location for the shoot. Stoke Ranch was our backdrop for our time together and it was rich in history and memorabilia from the golden age of the automobile! A perfect place for this couples engagement portraits. A tiny church, old cars, a fire truck, and an original Signal filling station were among the "props" that represented the lifestyle Kim and Fred live. The connection that I got to experience with these two was amazing! They are loving life and each other and I hope my images help portray that to their family and friends! Enjoy!

Iris Farm

This past weekend my parents went out to Vacaville to visit the Pleasant Valley Iris Farm
. I met them out there to drop off my son for his weekend with Nana & Papa and decided to hang out for a while and walk around. There are so many beautiful flowers here. I stole my Dads camera at first and took some pics and then got the itch to do more so I ran back to my car and grabbed my camera and lenses so I could get a bit more creative.

All of these were with my 5D (it needed to be exercised since I havent used it since November!), 35L, and 15mm Fisheye.

When Rachel suggested this location to me, I didnt know what to expect. I had never been there or heard anything about it. When I got to Redwoods Regional Park in Oakland I was super excited for the shoot. Amazing trees!!! This was so different from a lot of my recent shoots so I was tapping into some unused poses and new lighting to see what I can come up with!

Rachel and Themis have a great connection and we had a LOT of fun during the shoot. Their personalities and the location has made this an amazing session, and Im so excited to share it!

Emily & Abe got married in Healdsburg this past weekend at the GORGEOUS Madrona Manor. The wedding was absolutely beautiful, everyone was so amazing and so happy to share the big day with the bride and groom. There we so many great aspects of this wedding! Very Busy Weekend!!

This past weekend was extremely busy for cmc | photography! Saturday we shot an amazing beach wedding out at Bodega Bay with a intimate backyard reception in Santa Rosa. We had a blast with the happy couple and met a lot of fun people that hopefully we can see again at future weddings!
Sunday started out HOT! Our first engagement shoot started at 10am out in the Suisun Valley and it was already in the 80's!! Finding shade was a must so we could all stay cool. Found lots of little hidden gems including some nice wineries that we will hopefully be doing some work for in the future. After the shoot we picked up some lunch and then headed to the Palace of Fine Arts in SF for engagement session #2. The weather was GORGEOUS but the parking was not! I guess that is what we get for going to the city during Bay to Breakers! Regardless we got some wonderful images at the Palace. Our couple then suggested the Legion of Honor, so we said "why not?!" WOW!! This place is AMAZING! Others thought so too as there were 5 other photogs there doing shoots. Got even more amazing images here and wrapped up the day. Steve and I were very tired but very accomplished! Lots of pics coming soon so stay tuned!

A photographers dream is a slightly overcast day and a couple that will do ANYTHING for the sake of pictures. Trespassing, blocking traffic, invading laundromats, and jumping in parking lots! Anything I threw at these two they did with a smile and enthusiasm! I had so many images to sort through but these are some of my favorites! I cant wait for their wedding.

If you have never been to an Assyrian wedding you wouldnt understand how much fun they are!!! Assyrians know how to party!
Starting out at the brides house with a pre-party with all the family. Music, dancing and a tradition that I had never encountered before. They try and steal the brides shoes!! So when I took the shoes for pictures I was told by the bride "DO NOT give these to anyone!!" As soon I the shoes were handed to me I was constantly asked for the shoes!!! It was really funny.
The ceremony was ALL in arabic so I had NO idea what was going on, we just kept shooting! And then the reception....well lets say it NEVER stopped, live band, dancing, dancing and dancing! So much fun. It took a couple days to recover :)
Anyways, congrats to the newlyweds!

Atur is a good friend from High School so doing this shoot was a lot of fun! These two are a great couple and we went around a new development in Hercules and got some cool images and then went up to the old Hercules Dynamite factory building and got some more great shots! A cold snowy "trash the dress"

Shaylyn got married last November and we had always talked about doing a TTD session. Well we finally got one scheduled!!! I had known of this location up in Lake Tahoe for a couple of years and always thought it would make for a GREAT TTD location! The weather help out for us for the most part and we headed up to Tahoe for a few hours to do some shooting!
During the shoot we expereinced fog, rain, snow and hail with tempertures hovering around 32 degrees! Shaylyn was a trooper and Steve and I had fun working with the gear in the snow. Enjoy the pics, and soon we will have video!

I cant believe it has been almost 2 weeks! My whole family has had a wicked bad cold/flu whatever, and now I have ear infections! YES! A 30 year old has ear infections, in BOTH ears! Really not a good way to start the year. Hopefully today I will get a lot of work done. I have quite a few potential clients I need to get in contact with. Hopefully the next post will be a healthy one!

I found this picture while going through a few boxes of old prints! This is from the second wedding I ever was asked to shoot at. September 1997 in Lake Tahoe, I was 18 years old! Its amazing how much has changed since then, obviously I am not shooting with that MONSTER of a camera, and DEFINITELY not using film. Ah, the good ole days!

This was my last wedding of the 2008 season and what a great way to end another wonderful year! Mandy (the bride) is a very good friend and I was so happy that she choose me to photograph her big day! We had so much fun (maybe a little to much fun!) and I got some great images. Our hotel room was right about where the ceremony was taking place so my assistant Steve was up there getting some birds-eye-view shots which came out great!
